Fine Screens. Fine screens are devices with openings 0.5 to 6 mm (0.02 to 0.25 in.) that remove coarse screenings along with a higher degree of rags, wipes, stringy material, and organic matter. A washer and compactor, either integral to the screen or standalone, must be used with fine screens.
