Mustard et al. (2006) reported concentrations of Au and other ore metals in quartz-hosted melt inclusions from the Au-mineralized Timbarra pluton, Australia. Gold could be detected only in the most fractionated melt portions, where it attained values between 0.02 and 0.96 ppm and correlates with the concentrations of incompatible elements.
