Calcined Clay as Supplementary Cementitious Material
The research was carried out on waste fractions of kaolin from deposits of the Brazilian Amazon calcined at various temperatures in the range 550–800 °C for 2 h. Results of the tests showed that the wastes were composed primarily of coarse-grained kaolinite, which can be an excellent starting material for pozzolana and zeolite production.Web

Traditionally, ball or tube mills are used in finish grinding, but many plants use vertical roller mills. In ball and tube mills, the clinker and gypsum are fed into one end of a horizontal cylinder and partially ground cement exits the other end. Modern ball mills may use 32–37 kWh tonne − 1 for cements with a Blaine of 3500.Web

A pozzolan is a siliceous or siliceous and aluminous material that in itself possesses little or no cementitious value but will, in finely divided form and in the presence of moisture, chemically react with calcium hydroxide at ordinary temperatures to form compounds having cementitious properties.
